That’s Me

If there’s one thing I’ve learned, it’s that life’s most meaningful chapters are rarely written in straight lines—they’re shaped by curiosity, quiet leaps of faith, and a stubborn belief that growth has no expiration date.

In 2021, during the stillness of the pandemic, I published my first book, Business Introverts. It was a labor of empathy, born from years of observing how introverts like myself navigate a world that often mistakes quiet for complacency. Writing it taught me the beauty of stillness—and that even in uncertainty, creativity thrives when we listen deeply.

Long before that, in 1999, I took a leap that still humbles me: bringing BNI to Singapore, making it the first Asian chapter of this global network. At the time, it felt less like “making history” and more like stitching together a community of believers—people who, like me, saw collaboration as oxygen for growth. It taught me the power of showing up, even when the path feels uncharted.

Then, in 2011, life handed me a rare gift: the chance to trade Singapore’s skyline for Canada’s rugged mountains. Moving across the world in my 40s wasn’t just an adventure—it was a lesson in humility. I discovered that “home” isn’t a place but a willingness to embrace the unfamiliar, whether through hiking trails that tested my stamina or conversations that stretched my worldview.

Through it all, I’ve carried simple joys: sketching quiet moments with a pen, wandering new cities with a traveler’s eyes, and finding poetry in everyday details. These aren’t just hobbies—they’re reminders that curiosity is ageless and that resilience often looks like pausing to appreciate the view.

Now, as I step into my 60s, retirement feels… too small. Instead, I’m choosing to reFIRE—a term I’ve coined for reigniting purpose with the clarity that only comes with time. My next chapter? A passionate plunge into publishing, amplifying stories that celebrate the quiet achievers, the late bloomers, and those who rewrite the rules of “success” on their own terms.

Slow down, but burn brighter. Our legacy isn’t built in haste—it’s crafted in the bold, purposeful steps only experience can teach. Ready to light yours?

Let’s rewrite the script together!
